Aboriginal Incursions Pty Ltd was proud to partner with Tenable to deliver an engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural experience, combining a creative Aboriginal canvas art workshop with an interactive cultural learning session as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations.
The experience provided the Tenable team with an opportunity to connect with the rich histories, cultures, and continuing traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through meaningful discussion and hands-on participation.
During the cultural session, participants explored five important cultural talking points that deepened their understanding of Australia’s First Nations cultures. These discussions included the significance of Connection to Country, the importance of kinship and community, the role of storytelling in preserving knowledge, the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures across Australia, and the value of respecting and celebrating living cultures in contemporary Australia.
Following the discussion, participants took part in an Aboriginal canvas art workshop, where they created their own artworks inspired by traditional symbols and storytelling techniques. Guided by Aboriginal cultural educators, the activity encouraged creativity while reinforcing the cultural meanings behind the artwork and the stories it represents.
The workshop created a welcoming and inclusive environment where team members asked thoughtful questions, shared conversations, and gained a deeper appreciation of the world’s oldest continuing living cultures. Experiences such as these support stronger cultural awareness, encourage respectful engagement, and help build more inclusive workplaces.
