An Aboriginal educational and interactive experience.
This option skips performances and begins straight with workshops. Offering 2 First Nations Educators to visit and a 90 minute – 2 hour experience. The main objective here is to offer one Aboriginal station and the other a Torres Strait Island workshop.
This package is also an absorbing, interactive learning experience for students and teachers. We teach culturally important rituals, knowledge and song-lines, song and dance, showcase important Aboriginal tools, communicate Aboriginal symbols in art and demonstrate the importance of community and understanding.
This package consists of:

- Artefacts, Weaponry, Bush Survival

- Aboriginal Art (On Canvas)
- Boomerang Throwing
- Torres Strait Island interactive songs with the students
- Torres Strait Island artefacts and instruments
- A 90 minute to a 2 hour experience that students will participate in
- Students get the opportunity to see 2 educators that are running different activities
- This is a popular package as the students experience the 2 First Nations cultures which are included.
- One station Aboriginal focused and the other station is Torres Strait Island.

How do I book Bandaar Dreaming (Grey Kangaroo)?

What type of areas do you need?
You will need 2 areas of the school that you will use for the 2 First Nations Educators visiting, keeping in mind a wet weather plan, if your areas are outdoors, and also that will comfortably fit the size group. Example areas include, Schools hall, under COLA, Library, an Oval or field or something similar for the boomerang throwing activity and if the school does not have an area for boomerang throwing this activity will not go ahead however, we will fill up the time with another activity. Double Classrooms work well, Yarning Circles or pleasant outdoor areas are great if the weather is good.
How would the day run if my school has 600PAX students enrolled?
No matter how many students enrolled, the students will experience a 90 minute to a 2 hour rich cultural experience with our Bandaar Dreaming package. An example scenario, if your school has 600PAX students enrolled is, you will need to divide the 600PAX into 4 groups naming the groups Kangaroos, Emus, Goannas and Koalas. Kangaroos and Emus will be made up of grades K-2 while the Goannas and Koalas are made up of grades 3-6. Please divide the 600PAX as even as possible being 150PAX per group and if this means you need to mix stages then please do so. We will commence the day with the Kangaroos and Emus which is the grades K-2, they will have their 90 minute to 2 hour experience while the grades 3-6, Goannas and Koalas are just doing what they normally do during school hours until it is their turn. So Kangaroos will go to educator 1 while Emus are at educator 2, the session runs for 45-60 minutes and then they will swap over, kangaroos to go to educator 2 while emus will go to educator 1 and again the session runs for 45-60 minute, they are then finished their 90 minute-2 hour experience and it will be the goannas and koalas turn, the same process is repeated.
How can you manage such large groups?
Our visit is a special event and not a normal school running day, hence why the students are on their best behaviour and display good manners to our educators.
Are photos and filming allowed?
Yes the school is welcome to take as many photos and film on the day for use of the schools memorabilia and folio only.
How much notice do you need in order to book?
The more notice you give us the better, however, we are able to service last minute bookings! Best approach is to call on 0403 313 829 if it’s a short turnaround request.
